------------------------------------------
Today was a very special day.
It was Arashi's day off and they went to a wishing fountain.
Ohno, the leader, went first. He rummaged through his pockets with a blank look on his face that suddenly changed to mild surprise. “...My wallet's disappeared...”
Nino, the second youngest, turned him around. “Okay, you stand there, I shall perform some magic. Close your eyes.”
He then took out Ohno's wallet from where he'd been hiding it as a prank. “Ta-da!” he exclaimed. “Here it is!”
“Here goes then.” Ohno took out a coin and promptly proceeded to throw it.
A clink, and it hit the pillar.
Jun, the youngest, threw his coin next. It nearly missed.
Meanwhile, Aiba was watching their antics with interest. After Nino threw his coin, he approached him.
“Ne, Nino-chan. What's that?”
“It's a wishing pond. You wish, throw a coin and if it lands on the pillar you get your wish.” Nino turned back to his DS.
“So...What did you wish for?” I bet it's got to do with a new game for his DS, Aiba thought secretly.
Nino's answer came unexpected. “That my seasickness can be cured so that I can spend more time with Oh-chan on his boat, and that we can be together forever.” He glanced at Ohno, who was absorbed in conversation with Jun.
That's a really good wish! thought Aiba. I'd like to be together forever with Sho-chan, too.
He rummaged in his wallet. Oh dear, thought Aiba. I have no coins...
“Ne, Nino-chan, can you lend me a coin?”
Before Nino could reply, Sho had already came forward. “You need a coin? Here, have one of mine.”
“Thanks, Sho-chan!” Aiba was thrilled. Okay, so it didn't look that hard to hit it. Yet now he looked at the pillar, it did seem a little small. He closed his eyes, wished, took aim and let go.
Please make it, please make it, pleaded Aiba silently. A clink was heard as it ricocheted off the corner and dropped into the water with a plop. Aiba's heart sank, and although he tried to contain his disappointment, it came out on his face.
Sho, seeing his face change, strode over. Gathered him close, and whispered into his ear, “You can have my wish if you want, I don't really want anything much now anyway. Wish when I throw, okay?”
Eyes full of gratitude, Aiba whispered back, “Thanks so much, Sho-chan! But are you really sure?”
“My wish is for you to have your wish,” smiled Sho. Only that pair of eyes could melt him inside that way. Letting go of Aiba – how he longed to hold him more – he turned to face the pillar, and pulled out his own 10-yen coin. A deft flick of the wrist and the minute disc of metal sailed through the air, landing triumphantly right smack in the middle of the top of the pillar.
“YAAAAAAAAAY~! Sho-chan, you're the best!” squealed Aiba. He promptly surprised everyone, including himself, by flinging his arms around Sho and planting a huge kiss right on his lips.
“Not now, everyone's watching...” Sho pushed him away halfheartedly.
They looked around. There was no one to be seen, however a nearby bush rustled with what sounded like laughter.
