Late Nights

duckyshimetai Just a little drabble because I totally hate myself for being unproductive. Also, Nino Ex loooooms around the corner DX

"Nino, it's late." Sho called out. He was on his way to the kitchen for a hot drink, probably with milk and sugar, to help him stay up to finish his last bits of work.
A half-hearted grunt of acknowledgement came from Nino. Sho sighed as he put on the kettle.
Nino was not as young as he used to be. The late nights and long hours in front of a screen were taking more of a toll on his health than they used to, and Sho had noticed it.
The dark eye rings were already telltale signs, and his paleness and irritability gave it away even more. Some days, Nino even snuck off to the restroom or some deserted corner to take a nap.
A few more levels down, and Nino heard the gentle clink of a cup being put down in front of him. Sho settled onto the sofa beside him with a sigh.
"It's not one of Jun's teas, is it?" He asked, wrinkling his nose slightly after looking up.
Sho chuckled. "Nah, it's one of mine. Chamomile." He nudged the cup slightly towards Nino. "I drink it when I'm stressed or need to sleep."
Nino raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth, but Sho continued speaking. "Things haven't been going well at work lately, right? You want to do well, but you can't, so you're taking it out on your games."
Nino obstinately shook his head, but raised the cup to his lips.
"It's great to be able to sleep early though..." Sho mumbled absentmindedly. "I still have a report to complete... and some other things." He blew on his coffee.
Nino drained the cup, and the warmth of the tea settled in his belly. "I'll sleep earlier if you do."
Sho chuckled again. "I can't, Nino. I have work."
Nino leaned against him. "You don't have to accept so many projects."
Sho considered this for a while.
"Okay." Sho said, but Nino didn't hear it, as he was already sound asleep, head on Sho's sloping shoulder.
